If it’s black, fight back. If it’s white, goodnight.”

1. The Brown Bear (Grizzly): “Lie Down”

Brown bears are massive and incredibly strong. Most of their attacks happen because they are surprised or protecting their cubs.

The Strategy: If a Brown bear charges, do NOT run. They are faster than Olympic sprinters. Instead, Lie Down on your stomach, cover your neck with your hands, and play dead. Once the bear realizes you aren’t a threat, it will usually leave.

2. The Black Bear: “Fight Back”

Black bears are smaller but can be more predatory. If a black bear is following you, it’s not scared—it’s curious or hungry.

The Strategy: Never play dead. The Polar Bear: “Goodnight”

The “White Ghost” of the North is the most dangerous predator on Earth. Unlike other bears, Polar bears view humans strictly as food.

The Strategy: In the Arctic, survival without a firearm is nearly impossible. Every year, beautiful souls are lost simply because they didn’t know these three simple colors.
